  • Bowdoin students, faculty and staff should follow these steps to get books that are checked-out or missing.
  • If you can’t find your book on the shelf but the status says “Available,” please ask for help at the Circulation Desk. Staff will help you look for the book; if we can’t find it, we’ll declare it “Missing” then you would follow these steps.
  • Books requested through NExpress or MaineCat will be shipped to Bowdoin, usually within 2-4 days; this is faster than if we recall a checked-out Bowdoin book! However, the Library will recall a checked-out book for you if this seems to be the most appropriate way to obtain it for you; please ask at the Circulation Desk.
